Our programmable purifier/distiller, the Waterwise 8800 is our most popular distiller. Program it at night to run while you sleep, providing 100% steam distilled water for your great tasting cup of coffee or tea. If you enjoy cool water, the carafe fits nicely inside the refrigerator. The Waterwise 8800 is also compact enough for traveling! (Though we recommend the Genie Mk2 for heavy travelers).

The Waterwise 8800 is very simple to use. Fill the stainless steel boiler with tap water, press the start button and soon you’ll have pure, healthful water for all your cooking and drinking needs. The electronic monitor with its multifunction LCD readout displays the time of day, has a programmable, time-delayed start-up feature, and lets you know when to change the carbon filter.

The Waterwise 8800 water purifier/distiller effectively removes substances such as arsenic, aluminum, bacteria, chloride, chlorine, chloroform, copper, fluoride, lead, mercury, nitrates, sodium, sulfate, trihalomethane (THM) and viruses.

What is carbon post filtration?

Post filtration is used as a final treatment to effectively remove VOCs (volatile organic chemicals). It significantly reduces trihalomethanes, synthetic organic compounds such as pesticides and hydrocarbons, and petrochemical byproducts such as benzene, toluene, and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE).

Why is post treatment needed?

To remove contaminants that may carry across in the steam. Carbon posttreatment ensures high purity water after the distillation process is completed.

1. Ordinary tap water is heated in the stainless steel boiling chamber to 100° C killing bacteria, cysts and viruses that may be present.

2. As the water temperature rises, low boiling light gases are discharged through the gaseous vent.

3. Steam rises leaving behind dissolved solids, salts, and all other contaminants.

4. Steam is condensed in a stainless steel coil.

5. This high quality steam distilled water then percolates through a coconut shell carbon filter. (To enhance the taste)

6. The purified drinking water is collected in the four litre storage bottle (included).
